Working on a smaller scale piece helps us problem solve through potential issues before getting into a larger work.

Creating a maquette or a “clay sketch” can be fun and less time consuming as a larger work. Making a smaller work gives you the flexibility to modify the pose, play with the gesture of the form, and problem solve potential issues you can run into when working larger.
